vs Dartmouth @Hanover,NH

Fall season Week 2:

Score
Yale 22: Dartmouth 5

A rough start resulted in 2 injuries to 2 of our key veterens. With an extremely athletic side and utilizing their huge pack, Dartmouth looked the more dangerous side in the opening minutes. Against the run of play, a goalline Rhino resulted in a try for Yale. Bryce made his first every try from the middle of the pack. With the half winding down, Dartmouth threw everything they had at Yale but they could not find the opening. There was even a drop goal attempt by their flyhalf that went just wide.

In the second half, both teams were pumped up for the still open contest. After a long period of kicking exchanges and numerous scrums in the middle of the field, the Yale backline showed their class and talent. A series of exchanges from the center to the wing resulted in a picture perfect try. Ben was the scorer on the wing. As Dartmouth started to look exhausted, the Yale backline caught them napping again and Carl scored another try through the middle of their defence after a series of passes with the center and outside to bring the score to 17.
With the second half almost winding down, Dartmouth proceeded towards the Yale goalline. With a strong goalline stand that lasted for almost 10 minutes, a shutout scoreline was imminent. However, the Dartmouth forwards powered through the valiant Yale defence and eventually made the score 17-5.

As the clock was winding down, Dartmouth believed they still had a chance and created many openings anbd breakaways towards the Yale tryline. However, a fumble near their 20 gave Yale possession with 3 minutes left on the clock. The ball made its way down the wing with Dmitri picking the fumble and Kristian making a good diagonal run towards the wing. The ball was fumbled on the wing and was picked up by Brian to make the score 22-5 as the clock was winding down.

It was an intense match with a lot of back and forth action. Yale Grad Rugby is still undefeated this fall season.
